High School and College Students:
For High School, Spring Break is either here or will be soon. For College, classes end in a couple weeks. This is the time of year to head many of you start to plan for the lake or the beach. If you are like most of us, between mom’s Christmas baking and cooking, partying for New Years, then those chocolates on Valentines… that swimsuit may not be fitting the way it should. Here are some suggestions to drop a few pounds and tighten up before you head out in that bikini.
1. Give up those soft drinks and for those old enough, the “Adult” beverages. Switch to water and if it needs a little kick, add one of the Crystal Lite Favor packets, but plain is better.
2. If it is fried, it needs to go. You should be looking for items that say grilled… sticking to Chicken, Turkey or Fish.
3. If snacking is an issue, especially when studying make sure you have some apples, celery or carrots around rather than the chips and dip or the vending machine.
4. If you need that energy drink to get you going or to stay up for those late night study sessions, Get the ones that are sugar free, low carb, low sodium. Some of my favorites are Full Throttle unleaded & NOS Sugar Free Orange can.
Now to tone up, I know you may not have time or money to head to the gym so here are a couple of exercises you can do in the floor of your room or dorm room. Fitness can be fun, So put on your favorite CD and get started.

1. V-Ups
2. Push-ups…real pushups ladies not shoulder shrugs…start slowly and build up, no one is watching you. (if you can’t do them on the floor-stand up and start on the wall first to build your strength.)
3. Jumping jacks-remember those?
4. Dancing…great exercise…so crank up the CD and get your heart pumping for a good 15 minutes.
5. Now lets start cooling down, and work on the backside, squats, squats, squats (do them with your feet close together & should width apart)
6. Then to finish off, stand up and do back kicks, front kicks, sidekicks, if you have ankle weights use them.
Put these tips to use to help drop a few pounds and tone up for bikini season.
Victoria will be competing in this weekend’s Orlando Pro. Check back this weekend to see how she did in the fitness competition.
