The next time you see Nathalia Moreira on a competitive stage it won’t be the NPC. She competed and won the overall bikini title at the NPC Ft. Lauderdale show in October. Due to her current citizenship Nathalia is unable to enter a national level NPC event. Nathalia petitioned the IFBB Professional League office to receive her IFBB Pro card because of her citizenship situation. The IFBB Pro League office contacted the IFBB Brazilian representatives and everything was approved. After careful consideration, IFBB Professional League Chairman Jim Manion granted Nathalia IFBB Pro League status.
Nathalia goes koo-koo over the news of her IFBB Pro Card!
When I asked Nathalia how she felt about the news she enthuastically shared, “Are you kidding me?! This is the best Christmas gift! I can’t tell you how happy I am to be an IFBB Pro.” Nathalia has her sights set on the Orlando IFBB Europa Show of Champions as her pro debut in the new bikini division. She’ll then pack her bags and compete in the IFBB Pittsburgh Pro Bikini event in May.
Pick up the newest FLEX magazine to read more about this rising star in the bikini division. You can also see a few photos of Nathalia currently featured on FLEXonline.com.
Now this is cool. IFBB Pro, Shannon Dey passed along this photo of “Blaze Star”. She tells me the Pomeranian is a big fan of the site and absolutely LOVES the new Bikini Division. Can’t argue with that.
How many of you watched the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show tonight?

Did you watch Victoria's Secret Fashion Show?
Sure, some of you may say the women were “too skinny” but hey they aren’t fitness/figure competitors. They’re fashion models and from the looks of tonight’s show a few of the models were rock’n the hardbody. The PINK line by Victoria’s Secret are great for photo shoots. Just say’n.
If you’re a competitor you’ve probably had to hide a jar of peanut butter from yourself more than once. I know the feeling. I’m a fan of the nutty goodness. I ran across a handy little product that may help you from over indulging with the peanut butter. Justin’s Nut Butter, a Boulder, Colorado company, has a variety of almond and peanut butter flavors in little squeeze packets. It’s an organic product too! I snatched up one of each flavor and this morning enjoyed the almond butter packet on my protein pancakes. MMMM mmm GOOD! I’ll put a couple to the test next week to see if they make it through airport security. They should since they are under 3oz. Definitely a HARDBODY approved product. Check em out and tell them HARDBODY sent ya.
One young lady is such a super fan that she created her own little song for the brand.
Katrina Hodgson and Karena Dawn are two personal trainers out of California who have teamed up to form ToneitUp.com. The duo has their own Youtube channel with instructional videos as well as a blog that is fun and easy to navigate. You may recognize them as they’ve both appeared in numerous fitness publications. I like their site and its fun approach to fitness. Check out their site and tell ‘em HARDBODY send ya.
The duo is also on twitter and facebook. Keep your eye on a future issue of Muscle & Fitness Hers with Katrina in it. Read her behind-the-scenes blog about the shoot.
Check out a few new photos on Muscle & Fitness of hardbody Amanda Latona. Amanda recently turned pro in bikini and is a finalist in the FLEX online Bikini Model search contest. Definitely Hardbody approved!
Check out the profile on Muscle & Fitness Hers with Brazilian hardbody skater Fabiola da Silva. This is one bad ass roller blader who is paving the way for women across the globe. Learn more about her and the workouts she goes through on the Muscle & Fitness Hers web site.
A short and sweet little video with IFBB Figure Pro Mary Lado. The video goes behind the scenes on the FLEX magazine photo shoot. It’s a shame we may never see this physique on stage again. Enjoy the video compliments of FLEXonline.com.
Many times message boards get a bad rap for fostering negativity, especially in the fitness, figure and bodybuilding world. Message boards are often filled with gimmick accounts looking to bash on anyone and everyone or ruin valid discussions. I visit a number of forums for photography, design, MMA and other niches. There always seems to be a few people who post more often then others for whatever reason. I do agree that the message boards in our industry tend to lean on the more negative side of things then other industries. That is until recently. A few months ago, a board called “sioux country” has started to flourish. What the name means and what it has to do with fitness? I haven’t a clue. Who runs the board? Again I haven’t the slightest idea. Honestly, I don’t care who the guy is or need to know his name or see his face because he’s created a positive environment that fosters something refreshing to the fitness industry. The board continues to grow leaps and bounds every week with it’s members. You’ll find a variety of top pros and amateurs interacting with the fans. It’s great to see a friendly environment dedicated to the women of the sport where bashing and malicious attacks are not tolerated.
Women if you’re curious about all the happenings in the industry and too busy to visit a ton of sites (except for hard body of course), I recommend bookmarking the web site, siouxcountry.com. It’s worth checking out and rest assured you won’t be attack or belittled there. Props to the mysterious country of sioux for his dedication to the women’s side of the industry.
