Evelyn Theiss, Plain Dealer ReporterValerie Waugaman is used to showing off her ripped-yet-feminine physique at figure-bodybuilding competitions around the country.
But starting Sunday night, the whole country can tune in to view not only her strength, but her tough-girl sexiness as she portrays Siren, one of television’s new “American Gladiators.”
Waugaman’s body has landed her in the spotlight a few times. The 29-year-old, a co-owner of downtown Cleveland’s healthy Octane Cafe, has been a cover model for such magazines as Flex and Oxygen. She’s also competed in top national figure-bodybuilding contests, such as the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus and the Figure Olympia, held in Las Vegas in 2007.
