Under Armour Women – I Will

Check out the new women’s spot from Under Armour. THIS is bad ass and empowering to women.

Under Armour announced their new women’s “Protect This House. I Will.” campaign today. They are creating a multi-channel campaign and a new Facebook page aimed at their female consumers.

Check out the new Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/UnderArmourWomen. I’ve created a TEAM HARDBODY section on the site. You can check it out here.

See more Under Armour spots on their YouTube channel, youtube.com/underarmour.

The New York Times has an interesting story on the new launch. This stood out to me…

“Women said they did not want to be treated separately. They said, ‘We want to see ourselves up against men.’ ” Such women, he said, “don’t look at themselves as a female athlete but as an athlete.”

Yeah, baby!!! After all the talk over that *ucking tasteless, trashy Nutrex ad, Isaac, thanks for posting something like this. Genius marketing in my opinion. I find Under Armour trendy and overpriced, but I will consciously choose these products more often in the future because of the respectful way female athletes are portrayed in these types of ads (I feel the same way about Nike). I will NEVER touch ANYTHING from Nutrex ever again. I’m a consumer and I feel I express acceptance of marketing tactics everytime I open my wallet and spend my money on a product.

I am first and foremost an athlete, and I respect and will support companies and products that recognize that fact. I will avoid like the plague companies that sleazily objectify physique athletes in ads that, far from turning me on, actually turn my stomach.

I think the women in the Under Armour ad are hella sexy. Sweat and a good PUMP turns me on just as much as a g-string and push-up bra any day of the week!! :D

I think most female athletes are attracted to this type of ad. It is sort of that ‘badazz cool girl’ vibe. It shows strength, but still is sexy and feminine in a way that is not literal. This is the right way to do this if you are trying to capture the attention of a serious female athlete. I look at that and want to be ‘part of that club’.

LOVE the video and it gets me FIRED UP . . . . BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT the appearance of ethnic women in this vid is easy to miss. Of course there’s 1 (ONE) in there and I had to watch the vid x3 to pick her out which is the young lady running in the blocks. The only reason why I say this is b/c some african american / ethnic women DON’T workout or participate in health & fitness b/c they don’t think it reflects them. Please believe this won’t deter me b/c after a 100lb weight loss almost completely on my own I’m not turning back but it can stop others. Ok anyway, off of my soapbox but again . . . I LOOOOOOOVE THE VIDEO!!

    Just one Word!!!

    LOVE!!!!!!

  9. I was in a women studies class two semesters ago when I first saw this and was like DAAAAMN!!! Those females were puttin in some serious work! And that’s what I liked about it the most, they were working and not just some fleshy hey look at me type deal. Don’t get me wrong, eye candy is great but whats even better is seeing women that can put most guys today to shame! Lastly, this was very tactful! I think most women would appreciate this because it portrays much more then just the obvious, it shows they can do what we do and sometimes even better! Can I balance myself on a ball like that… NOOOOOOOOOOO! Awesome!!!
