What do you think? Does this ad for Muscle Pharm, featuring former UFC Octagon girl Ali Sonoma, hit the mark and make you want to try their product?
Ali was the first winner of the NPC Bikini division but we haven’t seen her compete since. No word on if she plans to return to the competitive stage but she will be attending the Arnold Expo nex t month. Ali is also one of the models slated to perform in a live photo shoot at the Jason Dhir after-party.

Way to rip your tag off a Nike tee.
Ali looks great though.
Strong is ne new sexy… However, even if Ali has an amazing Bikkini body, I just don’t get the “Strong” vibe from her… Maybe someone like Pauline Nordin would have made more of an impact for this add…
I agree Ellie… I think Ali looks great for the type of physique that she represents… it’s just not the type of body that personally motivates me. That being said, it’ll probably motivate the mainstream a lot more than a Pauline Nordin would (and I absolutely love Pauline!).
As with Ellie and Alissa, I feel that for the ad to state “strong is the new sexy” I would, well, expect someone that looked strong. Someone that has a bit more muscle/muscle tone. I would roll my eyes if I came across this ad in a magazine for that reason.
Are you girls serious? Ali looks strong and fit. Alissa is dead on in that Ali motivates a MUCH MUCH bigger market.
Here’s the take home message – Ali will get more exposure with her “sexy strong” look than someone in the figure division who is more muscular.
Example of work smart, not just hard.
I think it should be noted that Ali will get more exposure because of her accomplishments and exposure. It’s not just because of her physique and look but rather the things she’s done in her career. Most notably being part of the UFC as an octagon girl. She was also on the MOLE reality show.
And I think I should note that Ali has done so much in her career because of her look, lol
It all seriousness it’s a formula of look + ambition. You need both.
personally I agree with the girls above. I can look beyond what I think looks good and from a public opinion of most people and say.. yes, she looks good.. but not “strong”. More soft than strong. It’s a difference of opinion.
