Well said. Keep doing what you’re doing. You bring a lot of great attention to the sport and your eye is clearly very sharp… even if it isn’t always looking where these certain individuals would like it.

One thing I would suggest… explain why you think competitors 123 will place where they will. I think if you supported your spot-on predictions with your reasoning, people would be less likely to feel the decisions are political. Perhaps they would even have some good advice to improve their own standings!

I’m not looking for anyone to feel sorry for me. I’m sure it won’t be the last time it happens.

I posted this in hopes it raises awareness with competitors and those close to them. It’s subjective, we’re all entitled to opinions and at the end of the day going off half cocked and getting upset serves no purpose.

Wow Isaac, I too am sorry this happened to you! I like the fact that this website does allow opinions, I respect what you have to say along with the others that follow this site. These competitors should realize in order to keep in this business thick skin is needed and being very secure in your marriage is needed as well if you don’t have these two then maybe they should take a step back! This is a sport PLAY HARD OR GO HOME!!!

It’s funny how you wrote about the husbands/boyfriends being jealous. I was just having this discussion with my brother a couple days ago and he said he’d never let his wife compete cause he wouldn’t want guys oogling her. Lucky for me, my husband is secure and would back me 100% if I ever enter into the fitness competition arena.

Agreed…I am newbie competitor this year and your site Isaac has/ and will be informing to me. Also there are politics in everything; life, and more apparent in mainstream industries where there is more $$$, power and fame.

This is what needed to be said. We haven’t met (yet), but you and I both know we’ve disagreed on a few placings here and there (yep, I haven’t forgot the 2008 Figure I prediction incident. HEHE! ), but if I can say one thing is that I’ve ALWAYS respected your opinion, regardless of whether I agree with it or not, as that’s not relevant. You say it like it is, you hold nothing back, and you don’t sugarcoat anything. I respect people like that.

Just show love to the haters. There is a definite love/need for drama…it is like a drug for most people. Issac, totally agree with you! How many times do your articles say- “its nothing personal peeps”. Competitors need to be happy with what they see in the mirror and reflect on that as this is a subjective sport.

I regularly read and visit this site simply because you come across as honest while still managing to steer clear of insults. I find rah-rahing just as offensive as I do person slams.

You and AnneP are a dying breed in this industry. Everyone seems either out to cut down another in order to make themselves appear that much greater, or out to kiss up to anyone they think might further their career.

Hey it comes with the territory. Not going to please everyone but there is a time and a place for everything. When I am out of line and get called on it I own up to it. Again, it is just my opinion and take it with a grain of salt or packet of splenda.

Kathleen you are funny. Good luck in your competition. I won’t stop writing how I see things and will always provide my two cents. I’m sure it won’t be the last time I upset someone or some bf/husband/family member gets pissed. It happens to judges, writers, photographers and others in the biz.
