		<description>I&#039;ve tasted raw stevia leaves from a friend&#039;s garden and was pretty amazed at the flavor.  I don&#039;t know anything about the chemistry of the plant, though, or of this product.  And I don&#039;t think there have been any long term tests on its effects.

The problem with Splenda/sucralose is that it&#039;s a chlorinated sucrose molecule and (being indigestible) may build up in the body over time, causing a wide variety of problems.  

Really, the only known safe artificial sweetener is saccharin; it&#039;s been in widespread use for almost 100 years with no serious side-effects recorded from moderate use.</description>
