Rest in Peace Steve Stone
Last weekend at the 2008 Olympia, Chief Expeditor Steve Stone unexpectedly passed away at the age of 52. Anyone who has competed in a national level show knows Steve. He left an impression on those who had the opportunity to meet him. Despite being one of the busiest guys at any given show he always took a few moments to calm a competitor down or answer any questions someone may have.

Steve Stone will be greatly missed.
I remember one of my first national shows where I was the new kid on the block. No one knew who I was and I was getting glares like who the hell is this kid in here with a camera. Steve pulled me aside and asked who I was working with and what I was doing in the check-in room without a pass on. He let me know what I needed to do, who to talk to and assured me not to worry that I was good to go. Over the years, I had the chance to make small talk with him about the shows, competing and life in general. He took the time to stand there and hold the white balance card for me when others were too busy to do so. Steve was the kind of guy that the world needs more. He’ll be greatly missed and my thoughts are go out to his family in and out of the NPC.
Steve will be laid to rest today.
