As a Photographer with no Degree in Photography ( Only a few College Coarses taken in photography and been shooting for over 19 years), I am self taught and do have that eye for photography, and I have been published in local beauty magazines and newspapers, I believe that there are too many Schmotagraphers or as they are commonly known as GWC = "Guy/Girl With Camera" in the photography field but just because you do not do it professionally but do it for the love of photography they eventually aspire to be something else. I would suggest that you inform your audience the importance of getting the shots that they are paying for. The old addage you pay for what you get is fairly common one in the field. You often find people who are willing to be cheap and not pay for a true professionally and thus the horror stories begin. The Schmotographers can be normal people trying to break into the business and looking for someone to give them a break... I mean we all eventually were looking for that break that someone was willing to let us take a picture of them and that goes the same for body builders... we all have to work at it. I think informing people of creeps and pervs is more appropriate because there are many GWC's like that. Maybe soemthings to watch out for?

[...] The schmonation is running strong and you will see a variety of the individuals I wrote about in my photographers post. Another item I’ll be writing about later is something I hadn’t given much thought, until last night. The “schmodels”. These are the women who thrive off the attention of posing, flexing, smiling for anyone who has a camera. Ladies if you’re a fitness or figure competitor and you’re flexing your biceps for a dude with a camera phone - YOU’RE A SCHMODEL. I’ll save this diatribe for another time. [...]

As a "formally trained" photographer, I agree with everything you have said so far. The questions that you have suggested should be considered are dead on. I won't comment on the possible answers and what I feel should be taken from them, because I assume that is what you are going to do. This is a great topic because there is a lot of misinformation out there and not a lot of guidance!
