Carano Crushes Young in Prime Time

Despite not making weight for the Elite XC fights, Gina “Conviction” Carano provided one of the most entertaining fights of the night. The fights marked the debut of MMA on network TV. Gina stated after the fight that she didn’t have enough time to prepare for the fights due to her schedule with the American Gladiators. She goes by “Conviction” in the MMA world and “Crush” on American Gladiators but whatever you want to coin her she is a badass who helped elevate women’s MMA on Saturday night. It’s reported that Gina had to weigh between 150-170 for her role on American Gladiators, so it’s understandable that she would have some difficulty getting down to 140 in a short amount of time. She’s only 26 and still learning about herself and how to control her weight. Gina provided an impressive fight against Kaitlin Young, winning at the end of the second round due to doctor’s stoppage.

I am just really curious to why some think women should not compete in MMA and are these no’s coming from men or women?

  2. mother nature says:

    from both men and women.

I am a man and I was looking @ this picture and I don’t think both of these creatures are women. I am not talking about the game or the violence of the game I am speaking about their faces and bodies. Since women by nature have a certain level of muscle development and since MMA matches are women/women and men/men then there’s no need for a woman to take some stuff and change herself into a creature that has no femininity from both facial and body proportions point of view just to fight another female contestant. If 2 fintess models were competing in that match I would encourage women into MMA because men and women are different by nature and the entertainment of men MMA match is different from the entertainment of women MMA match. but when I look into these creatures in the pic I’d say to myself..that’s a crapy male MMA match. Really these 2 creatures are not known if they were men or women.

Just to let you know…not all women are supermodels…that photo is a pic of 2 women with no makeup, hair extentions, plastic surgery, breast implants or photoshopping. They didn’t take 100 photos of these women and pick the best one that looks the most feminine. You need to get out of your dream world. Magazines are air brushed. They display models who don’t even look the same in real life. It displays2 women who
have not had plastic surgery, or any heavy makeup, plastic surgery or fancy clothes or great lighting. Magazines today are filled with pretty girls who have had surgery, airbrushing and makeup. Those 2 girls are real. You think they are going to get all dolled up to look beautiful before they beat the crap out of each other. Do you think 2 girls that are obsessed with their looks are going to go at it in the ring in the first place. Come on. You are the reason why magazines sell. You buy into the bs that women are supposed to look beautiful and feminine. Guess we all can’t have intelligence.
